Volkswagen is presenting major upgrades to its ID.3 electric vehicle (EV) model in a Pro S trim with several new features added. With these new features in the ID.3 Pro S, these improvements drive up its performance, comfort, and convenience. 

When it comes to performance upgrades, the ID.3 Pro S delivers more power with now up to 228 horsepower with an enabled estimated range of up to 347 miles. The improvements compared to its predecessor add up to an additional 27 horsepower and 8 miles of range. As for acceleration, the ID.3 Pro S now boasts an acceleration from 0 to 60 mph in 7.1 seconds, which is 0.8 seconds faster than its predecessor. 

There are also added technological upgrades to its ID.3 Pro S, where the cockpit landscape has been redesigned with a larger touchscreen display and an intuitive menu structure according to Volkswagen. An upgrade that stands out in the ID.3 Pro S is the infotainment system, where the ID.3 Pro S also added a ChatGPT integration with a new layout of the climate controls in a separate bar at the bottom of the screen. There is also a new augmented reality head-up display, a new Wellness App, and an optional premium sound system from Harman Kardon.

In terms of the Wellness App in the ID.3 Pro S contains several features such as background lighting, sound, and air conditioning with wellness modes available in the launch phase: Fresh Up, Calm Down, and Power Break. 

The introduction of the Wellness App adds another dimension to the driving experience, offering customizable modes for increased well-being while driving or during breaks. Meanwhile, the optional Harman Kardon sound system provides audiophiles with a premium audio experience, complete with multiple sound settings and customizable equalizer options.

Moreover, safety and assistance features have also been upgraded, with the ID.3 Pro S possessing a wide range of modern assist systems, including Adaptive Cruise Control, Autonomous Emergency Braking, Lane Assist, Car2X traffic hazard alert function, and many others. 

Imelda Labbé, a Member of the Volkswagen Brand Board of Management responsible for Sales, Marketing, and After Sales, expressed enthusiasm about the upgrades for the ID.3 Pro S stating, “The ID.3 Pro S represents the consistent further development of our product portfolio based on the needs of our customers. For example, the model now has an improved e-route planner and the option of preconditioning the battery. These are functions that have already been very well received by drivers of the other ID. models.”
